Breaking: President Buhari Commissions the First NALDA Integrated Farming Estate In Katsina State

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has on Monday, 19th of July, 2021, commissioned the first NALDA Integrated Farming Estate in Suduje, Katsina State, Nigeria.

NALDA which stands for National Agricultural Land Development Authority, is a body established in 1992 but it went into extinction in 2000. But under the administration of the President Muhammadu Buhari, it was revived to carry out its mandate of developing rural communities through agriculture and to make agriculture a business and a source of wealth creation for the country.

According to a post on their official Instagram page, the NALDA Integrated Farming Estate programme was established to engage the youths and empower them with the skills needed to make a living through agriculture, and also to ensure food security and availability for the Nation.

President Buhari on commissioning the farming estate said it is a laudable step in the right direction by NALDA to ensure that agriculture becomes more lucrative to the youth.

He further added that in time, NALDA Integrated Farming Estates will be built in each of the 109 senatorial zones in the country. Each Integrated Farming Estate will contain Poultry Pens, Rabbit Pens, Fish Ponds, Crop Farming areas, Processing and Packaging Plants, Storage areas, Clinics, Residential areas, Schools, Training Centers and Administrative Facilities.

The Prisident concluded by emphasizing that we must produce what we eat, and eat what we produce.

This however, will help in reducing the level of unemployment in the country, also increasing the availability of farm produce.
