"There Is A Big Difference Between Pride And High Standards" - Reno Omokri
Reno Omokri, the number one bestselling author, former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, and human rights activist, is at it again. This time, he has given a vivid difference between pride and high standards in a recent post shared on his official Instagram page.
According to Omokri, there is a big difference between pride and high standards. He said if he refuses to associate with you because he thinks he is better than you, then he is proud. But if he refuses to associate with you because your low morals may corrupt him, then he is principled and that is a big difference.
Explaining further, the human rights activist said, "It is a foolish man that calls an eagle proud because it refuses to join chickens to pick rubbish from the ground." Adding that it wasn't a sign of humility if you lower your standards to secure someone’s approvals rather it was a sign of low self esteem.
His post reads;
"There is a big difference between pride and high standards. If I refuse to associate with you because I think I am better than you, then I am proud. But if I refuse to associate with you because your low morals may corrupt me, then I am principled. Big difference! It is a foolish man that calls an eagle proud because it refuses to join chickens to pick rubbish from the ground. It is not a sign of humility if you lower your standards to secure someone’s approval. It is a sign of low self esteem. Go upward and forward, not downward and backward!."
