2023 Presidential Election: Bola Tinubu Emerges APC Presidential Flag Bearer

Bola Tinubu has been emerged the APC Presidential flag bearer for the 2023 Presidential election which will be held on 25th of February in Nigeria.

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Lagos state governor Bola Tinubu, was today Wednesday, 8th of June, 2022, declared the flag bearer and winner of the party’s presidential primary at the Eagle Convention Centre, Abuja.

Tinubu defeated other APC Presidential aspirants with a total number of 1,271 votes.

The other aspirants he contested against are; Ex-minister Rotimi Amaechi with a total votes of 316, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo with a total votes of 235, Senator Rochas Okorocha - 0, Ikeobasi Mokelu - 0, Governor Dave Umahi - 38, Emeka Nwajiuba -1, Pastor Tunde Bakare-0, Senator Ahmed Sani - 4,  Governor Yahaya Bello - 47, Tein Jack Rich- 0, Ogbonnaya Onu - 1, Senator Ahmed Lawan- 152, and Senator Ben Ayade - 37.

According to the Information reaching Punchnewss.com.ng, Nine aspirants made a quick U-turn by stepping down before the voting began, of whom eight out of the nine asked their supporters to vote for BolaTinubu.

While the remaining one asked his supporters to vote for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

The names of the aspirants who took the above said decision are; Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa, Robert Boroffice, Ken Nnamani, Ibikunle Amosun, Dimeji Bankole, Godswill Akpabio and the only female aspirant in their midst, Uju Ken-Ohanenye.

So, Tinubu will now face former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi of the Labour Party in the 2023 Presidential election on the above mentioned scheduled date.
