2023 Election: INEC Announces Dates For PVCs Collection
In preparation for the 2023 general election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has today, Friday, December 2nd, 2022 announced the dates for the collection of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) nationwide.
This announcement was made via a statement released on their official Facebook page which was signed by the INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, which stated that Monday, 12 December to Sunday 22 January, 2023 have been fixed for the collection of the PVCs.
Mr Festus Okoye, disclosed that the above decision was the outcome of the meeting the commission had on Thursday 2nd, in a retreat held in Lagos State, where in they deliberated on important issues concerning the 2023 election as well as the dates for the collection of the PVCs across the nation.
“The Commission has fixed Monday 12th December 2022 to Sunday 22nd January 2023 as the dates for the collection of PVCs in all 774 Local Government Offices of the Commission throughout the federation," he said.
The Commissioner, Festus Okoye futher stated that the commission also resolved to devolve PVC collection to the 8,809 registration areas/wards from Friday 6th to Sunday 15th January 2023.
“Those that are unable to collect their PVCs at the Local Government Offices of the commission can do so at the registration areas/electoral wards. After the 15th of January 2023, the exercise will revert to the local government offices of the commission until 22nd January.
"All eligible and valid registrants can collect their PVCs from 9am to 3pm daily, including Saturdays and Sundays," he added.
