2023 FIFA Women’s WC: Super Falcons Announce Arrival At Brisbane Camp
The Super Falcons of Nigeria have announced their arrival at Brisbane camp in Australia, ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
This was made known via a video posted on the team’s twitter handle on Sunday, July 16, 2023.
The team was welcomed to its Sofitel Luxury Hotel by officials of the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA).
Super Falcons which is controlled by the Nigeria Federation of Football (NFF) is a Nigeria national women's football team that is made up of a number of professional female athletes who have found their career in football playing.The team often represent the country at competitive championships as the senior women's football team.They won the first African Women Cup of Nation once and have lost 5 games in African games for their first 20 years since its inception in 1991.
So, after a 10-day camp in Gold Coast, the team is now set for the World Cup beginning on Thursday, July 20th to August 20th.
The Super Falcons have been unable to dominate at the World Cup just like they have done in Africa.The team has been to every World Cup since 1991 but managed to finish in the top eight just once.
The nine-time African champions will later travel to Melbourne for their opening game against Olympic champions, Canada on Friday, July 21.
And after that they will meet the hosts Australia on July 27 and the Republic of Ireland on July 31, 2023.
